BY WILLIAM PROUDLER
The world is broken. Taylor is alone. Taylor has always been alone. Taylor has always been fine with that. Until they find an orange coat, a radio and a voice on the other end. What follows is a harmful conversation between two people trying to survive mentally and physically. They find comfort in each other; but that comes at a cost. Taylor soon realises that another voice in their head is not what they wanted.
With both actors switching roles, the play takes a different shape each night. An intense drama, set in the colourful but dirty confines of Taylor’s makeshift home, the storeroom of Peek’s Party Store. Cockroached is something we hope you haven't seen before.
"Really the play on it's basic level is about connection or lack there of. It explores how we predispose ourselves to connecting to people we can't see, on line and on our phones. This play contains no reference to gender of any of the character, in our modern world, i felt fitting that characters such as Taylor an the Radio are not bound by gender, their struggles are universal, they exist within us all. The play is a message to those who stay quite in their room , to those who feel scared they don't matter and to those who feel alone.'
